For your trade
SmokoBooks for your trade
One Windows app for quotes, invoices, job documents and the books behind them. Pick your trade to see it with the jobs you quote, the paperwork you send and the questions that come up in your line of work.
Every trade gets the same app and every feature. The one trade-specific document is the rental electrical safety check, which is for electricians and is the only document that prints your licence number in its certification.

What every trade gets
The trade pages frame it differently; the app underneath is the same. This is what you get whichever trade you are in.
Quote to job to invoice
Quotes hold up to 7 item lines, from your saved price list if you like, and the customer can tick, type their name and sign the PDF in any PDF reader. Mark it accepted and it becomes a job with the customer and address filled in. Invoices hold up to 8 item lines; deposit, progress and final invoices can each show the amount already paid and the balance due.
The job documents
Receipts (up to 6 lines), work orders (up to 5 material lines), variations, defect notices, service reports (up to 5 materials and 5 test results) and SWMS with high-risk triggers, hazards and controls and worker sign-on. The SWMS is a template for your own records: check your state regulator's SWMS requirements for high-risk construction work. Switch off the types you never use.
Your details on every PDF
Your logo, business name, ABN and contact details go on every document, and your tagline prints in the header, so put your licence number in your tagline. Bank details print on quotes and invoices.
The cash-book
Money in, expenses with a photo of the receipt attached, assets and a vehicle log. Put a job number on an expense and it comes off that job's profit. Subcontractor payments are recorded with the subbie's ABN and their licence and insurance expiry dates.
GST, BAS and TPAR
If you are registered for GST, the Tax & BAS screen shows each quarter with G1, 1A and 1B and your GST position, and the dashboard shows what to set aside for tax. You or your agent lodge. For TPAR the app keeps one combined yearly total, and the Excel workbook's Reports sheet also totals spend by supplier and contractor for the financial year.
Sending and handing over
Email from the app through classic Outlook, your email account's SMTP settings or your own email app (the new Outlook app cannot be automated). At tax time, export the Excel workbook and a CSV of every quote and invoice for your accountant.
What it does not do, in any trade
- No bank feeds
- No payroll
- Does not lodge BAS or tax returns
- No inventory
- No importer from Xero, MYOB or a spreadsheet
- Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit only
- One person in the books at a time
Need bank feeds, payroll or your accountant working in the file? See how it stacks up in SmokoBooks compared with Xero, MYOB and a spreadsheet.
One computer or two
Every plan has every feature, whatever your trade. You only choose how many computers use the books. Your books are never sent to us.
Solo
$19/month or $190/year
One Windows computer. Your books stay in a data file on that PC, with a backup each day you use the app. Starts with a 14-day free trial.
Solo + office PC
$29/month or $290/year
Two computers, say the laptop in the ute and the office PC, share one set of books through your own OneDrive, Google Drive or Dropbox folder, one person at a time. No trial on this plan: start on Solo and upgrade from inside the app; Stripe pro-rates the change and there is nothing to reinstall. How two computers work
The app needs the internet to activate and for a daily licence check, and keeps working for 14 days offline. If your subscription ends, the app locks. Your PDFs, data file and daily backups stay on your PC — export the Excel workbook before your plan ends. AENETWORKS is not registered for GST, so no GST is charged. If it is not right for you, email us within 14 days of your first payment for a full refund. Pricing in full
